Purpose of the job:

As Sustainability Leader you will lead consistent and effective execution of People & Planet Positive strategy on the market in partnership and collaboration with functions in the unit and on the country level. You will be a change driver, sustainability ambassador and secure that sustainability is always considered when decisions are made.

Main assignments:
• Collaborate and align with internal and external stakeholders to secure sustainability is integrated across all market functions in delivering their sustainability contribution to the agreed frameworks and strategies.
• Secure local adaption of the global and country directions and ambitions, to deliver to the total business agenda and a more People and Planet Positive IKEA.
• Ensure that alignment, budget and resources are in place to move the sustainability agenda within the market.
• Enable and follow-up sustainability performance and progress based on the country business plans, Group tools and methods.
• Facilitate integration and implementation of sustainability by supporting functions with the right information, best practice solutions, tools & methods and ways of working.
• Explore and follow-up on sustainability situation in local PMA and contribute to the unit’s business agenda, provide feedback and share across sustainability matrix.
• Document and evaluate initiatives and activities with a view to capitalise on learning, sharing and promoting continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Passion to learn and develop new skills, you are result oriented and change driven, together with a strong desire to lead business and people.
• Ability to drive the sustainability agenda as well as project management skills and an ability to lay strategy into action.
• Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to inspire and motivate people.
• Knowledge of how to balance and merge environmental, social and economic aspects to define sustainability and how IKEA uses that knowledge in striving to make business within the limits of the planet.
• Knowledge of IKEA corporate identity, core values and vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people, to ensure right representation.
• Knowledge of Retail/CFF business operations and how to make things happen.
• Fluency in English both written and spoken
• To be successful in this role you need a minimum 3 years of work experience in sustainability and/or business preferably retail, as well as experience in business leadership and proven knowledge in sustainability.
