In People Management subdomain you will be part of an amazing team who will support and guide you in your new role. In this position, we are looking for a passionate and motivated Senior-/Software Engineer who are excited to use technology to make everyday life better for our IKEA co-workers and have fun doing it. To achieve our collective IKEA mission of making everyday life better for the many people, we in People Domain believe we achieve that by making our co-workers life better by providing them with state-of-the art IT solutions to do their jobs.

In the capability area for Meet & Travel we work very close to our friends in People & Culture (HR) optimizing our travel solutions for IKEA co-workers. We are connected to our Travel Agencies, Online Booking Tool and Travel Risk solutions and collaborating with our 3rd party vendors.

We are a small Engineering Team with our own Integration platform built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) which has replaced former B2B integrations with external vendors. Engineering tasks involve being hands-on developer as well as having the architectural perspective for the solutions. We constantly upgrade our external integrations with SaaS applications in alignment with the IKEA technical roadmap.

We are currently moving away from traditional file transfers of data with vendors instead focusing on using APIs in our integrations and thereby adhering to the Cloud First Strategy. Major skill set and technologies in our work are Solution Designing, Google Cloud, Java, Node JS and Python.

As Systems Engineer your required competencies and expectations will include:
• Several years of experience from working with programming is required, as well as applying and adhering to good software engineering practices
• Experienced with Architectural concepts and driving the architectural perspective for our solutions
• Focus on enhancing the data integration between our GCP data hubs and Travel
• Being committed in ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables meet the required functionality and quality
• Taking responsibility in cooperation and aligning key stakeholders within Ingka and vendors to develop product/service design and technical roadmaps
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate, both verbal and written, with stakeholders in Business and IT
• Ability to advise and support other members of the team
• Building an own understanding of our purpose and values and explores opportunities for impact
• Understands how daily work contributes to the priorities of the team and the business
• Demonstrates strong commitment to personal learning and development
